Alexandria MSA Post Gains in Best Performing Cities Index
Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, Alexandria, Louisiana, November 19, 2009-- The 2009 Milken Institute/Greenstreet Real Estate Partners Best-Performing Cities Index ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The components include job, wage and salary and technology growth. Out of the 124 "small metros" evaluated, the Alexandria, Louisiana MSA was ranked number 31. This represents a gain of 47 spots over the 2008 ranking of 78. This was the fourth highest improvement among the small metros ranked in 2009.
