U.S. CHAMBER AWARDS CENTRAL LA REGIONAL CHAMBER 5 STARS
Alexandria, Louisiana- The United States Chamber of Commerce today awarded the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce Accreditation with 5-Star Distinction, the highest level of accreditation for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures and positive impact on the community.
“Accreditation validates a chamber as having programs that benefit their local economy and for positively influencing action in their community,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, Vice President, Federation Relations and Institute for Organization Management. “We applaud these organizations for advancing the principles of free enterprise.”
U.S. Chamber Accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. In order to receive Accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs, and technology. This extensive self-review can take 6-9 months to complete.
A letter from Tom Donohue, President & CEO, U.S. Chamber of Commerce accompanied the Accreditation plaque, presented by Monique Thierry, Executive Director, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Southwest/South Central Regional Office.
“Many chambers employ the Accreditation process as a way to establish organizational excellence. Nonetheless, your chamber went above and beyond the minimum requirements and was awarded the 5-Star designation at our most recent U.S. Chamber board meeting. Accreditation is one of the highest honors bestowed on chambers that support economic policies at the federal, state and local level,” wrote Donohue.
“Accreditation with 5-Stars is a tribute to the leadership of our board, the work of our volunteers and the effectiveness of our chamber team,” said Deborah Randolph, President, Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Reaching this milestone means that our local chamber has become one of only 3 percent of chambers in the nation having earned 5-Stars. The board and I are grateful to the U.S. Chamber for this honor.”
Local chambers are rated Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars. State chambers are recognized as either Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members.
