On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, welcome to the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce. Our community values long-time residents and welcomes visitors to Alexandria, Pineville and the surrounding area. Central Louisiana has much to offer for residents and visitors. Whether you enjoy outdoor activities, festivals, arts and cultural events, or historic destinations, there is something for everyone as we continue to reopen.
This has been an unprecedented time because of the pandemic, compounded by two hurricanes and an ice storm, and we know it has been incredibly hard on many of our businesses.
THANK YOU, members for your continued belief in the Chamber during the pandemic and the work we do here on your behalf and that of the community. So many of you have made your Chamber membership a priority, and for that we are grateful. For our team, it is a real honor to work on your behalf, and each day our focus is on benefiting our members and on helping to drive the economic recovery.
Throughout the pandemic, we have appreciated the chance to work with so many of you, on a variety of items like access to federal assistance, the development of a safe-reopening plan, and pivoting to take advantage of new opportunities. We coordinated with our health care providers, federal, state and local governments, and partner agencies to provide information and to ensure the voice of the business community was heard. We represented the business community during the regular and special Legislative Sessions as well as on the Louisiana Economic Recovery Task Force.
COVID-19 has caused us to pivot on so many things you have come to rely on from the Chamber, just like you have pivoted in your own business. Thank you for joining us for that journey, and especially for those that have tuned in virtually for our member briefings by federal and state elected officials, business workshops, meetings and major events, such as the Women in Business Conference, the Annual Meeting and the hybrid Bizzy Awards Gala.
Now that we may once again host live meetings and events, we are busy making things happen. The true value of the Chamber is its diverse membership made up of both large and small businesses located throughout the region. There is a lot to discover about your Chamber and the many opportunities available to enhance your business. We invite you get involved to learn how the Chamber operates to assist you.
Since its inception in 1914, the Chamber has been a catalyst for economic growth and development in central Louisiana. With more than 1,000 members, the Chamber will continue to pursue its mission by advocating for pro-business policies and delivering innovative programming and services that create an environment to foster economic growth.
